Orange AND black is the new black. This is not a color pairing I’d normally gravitate to, but wow am I drawn in by this rare mid-century modern Japanese tea or coffee set. It could be a chic piece of mod, sculptural art when not in use.
The stripes are so bold and smart that they cause you to take notice of your posture, how you’re dressed and decide to level up — a remarkable effect for a piece of pottery, right?!

Tray: 11.5" x 7.3"
Moriyama pottery was established in 1911 in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. These pieces have the bouquet of flowers mark and were therefore likely made in the 1960s.
Condition: pristine; no cracks nor chips.
